[VOICE POST]
It has been two weeks since I arrived here, and finally I feel as though I'm starting to understand this place. More or less. I don't know whether I am more surprised by the differences between this city and Viron, or the similarities; finding the rare and often distorted commonalities is shocking since most things around me are so alien. It doesn't help that things are so inconsistent here, due to what I am given to understand is the will of the city's gods. Ours were rarely so involved, at least now; once, of course, it was more common for men to converse with them, but these days very few live who have done so.
Certainly there are some redeeming qualities, here; for one thing if I do not watch myself, I shall get fat before I return to my own whorl. And I must confess the amount of information available, with the use of this computer-glass, is a thrill. I have heard there is a library, as well, though I have yet to visit it myself. I have always liked to read, though I probably should not do as much as I have been, having lost my glasses.
So, I am curious, city-- what is it that surprised you most about this place, other than your sudden arrival in it?

[Voice]
Are the two of you from the same whorl?
[Voice]
We are both from the same world so to speak. We have both lived in Narnia.
[Voice]
I have never heard of Narnia, I'm afraid; but I never knew there were worlds other than my own.
I don't believe I heard your name? I am Silk, if I did not say that earlier.
[Voice]
Neither did I till I met the Pevensies. Silk, I am Caspian.
[Voice]
It is good to meet you, Caspian. So-- Lucy is not from your world, but has visited it? Or you hers?

Before Pas finished building my whorl, men and women and chems lived in the Short-sun whorl; but traveling between the two was not like arriving here. There was a long journey involved, and everyone expected it; a woman I met told me there was some kind of boat involved, though I did not understand much of what she said.

[Voice]
The only people I know who saw the Short-sun whorl are Maytera Marble, and a woman named Mamelta. Maytera Marble has never told me much about the journey; she occasionally has some difficulty accessing the memory from that time. Mamelta told me what she could, but I did not understand much; I think she was rather confused herself. As far as I could see she had been sleeping for many, many years-- longer than I have been alive, since before my mother was born-- in a chamber beneath the ground. She spoke of a boat, but I did not learn much more than that.
[Voice]
That certainly sounds like a tale.
[Voice]
I wish I had understood more of what she said; or that I had more time to speak with her.

[Voice]
And you, Caspian?
[Voice] 1/2

[Voice]
I wish you the best of luck, in your task; may all the gods, and the Outsider especially, watch over you, Caspian.
